Privacy policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

This policy explains what information the Glyphbound game (the Android app and the version that runs in a web browser at glyphbound.quest/play) and this website handle, and why. Glyphbound is made by Nikola Jankovic, Serbia ("we", "us"). If you have any question, write to hello@glyphbound.quest.

The short version

Information stored on your device

The game saves your progress (restored buildings, stars, best times, Daily Inscription results, streak), your Ink balance and your settings (sound, vibration). On a phone this is the app's private storage; in a browser it is the site's local storage. It never leaves your device and we cannot see it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the site's data in your browser, deletes it. Settings → Reset progress erases it too.

Advertising (Android app)

The app uses Google AdMob to show optional rewarded videos: you choose to watch one in exchange for Ink. When the app requests or shows an ad, Google may collect and use information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address (and the approximate location derived from it), device type and operating system, and how you interact with the ad. Google acts on this information under its own policies:

Your choice. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app shows Google's consent form before any ads are requested. You can accept, refuse, or choose purposes one by one. If you refuse, you may still see ads, but they are not personalised. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy and ads. Anywhere, you can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your phone's settings (on Android: Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads).

We do not receive the information Google collects, and we do not sell personal information.

Secret Messages

When you write a Secret Message, the puzzle is built on your own device. The message text and the optional name you enter are placed inside the link you share, in a scrambled form so they are not readable at a glance. This is not encryption: anyone who has the link can read the message. We do not store Secret Messages. When someone opens such a link in a browser, the address, including the scrambled message, reaches our web hosting server like any page request and may appear in its logs (see below). Please do not put anything private in a Secret Message.

This website and the browser version

The website and the browser version are hosted by Hostinger. Like every web server, it records technical information about each request (IP address, date and time, the address requested, browser type) to deliver pages and keep the service secure. These logs are kept for a limited time under Hostinger's retention settings. The site uses no analytics, no advertising and no cookies, and loads no fonts or scripts from other companies.

Emails

If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply, and delete them when they are no longer needed.

Children

Glyphbound is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has contacted us, write to us and we will delete what we received.

Transfers outside your country

Google may process advertising data on servers outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Google relies on approved safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to or restrict its use, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. As we hold no personal information about you beyond emails you send and short-lived server logs, most requests are best made to Google for advertising data (see the links above), or handled on your device by resetting progress or your advertising ID. For anything else, contact us at hello@glyphbound.quest. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If the game starts handling information differently (for example if accounts or analytics are added), we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
